Need prayer?

What is Prayer?

Prayer is how we connect with God—it’s a conversation where we share our hearts, seek His guidance, and grow in our faith. Whether you’re offering praise, asking for wisdom, or simply resting in His presence, prayer is a vital part of the Christian life.

The Bible reminds us:
📖 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” – Philippians 4:6

At Whiting Christian Church, we believe in the power of prayer to transform lives, bring peace, and strengthen our relationship with God. No matter where you are in your faith journey, you are invited to pray with us, seek encouragement, and trust that God hears every word.

Prayer Resources

Growing in prayer is a journey, and we’re here to equip you with resources to help deepen your connection with God. Whether you’re new to prayer or seeking fresh ways to engage in conversation with Him, these tools can guide and encourage you.

Guided Prayers & Prayer Prompts

Not sure what to pray? Here are a few simple prayer prompts to help you get started:

  • Morning Prayer: "Lord, thank You for this new day. Guide my steps, fill me with Your peace, and help me glorify You in all I do."

  • Prayer for Strength: "Father, I feel weak today. Please give me the strength and wisdom to face whatever comes my way."

  • Prayer for Someone in Need: "God, I lift up [name] to You. Surround them with Your love, healing, and comfort."

Tips for Deepening Your Prayer Life

  • Set Aside Time: Find a consistent time each day to pray. Even five minutes of focused prayer can make a difference.

  • Use Scripture: Pray through Bible verses like Psalm 23 or Matthew 6:9-13 (The Lord’s Prayer).

  • Keep a Prayer Journal: Write down your prayers and reflect on how God is working in your life.

  • Pray Throughout the Day: Prayer isn’t just for the morning or evening—talk to God as you go about your daily routine.
